Workmen's Compensation Registration

Regular price R 1,650.00 Sale

If your company has employees in its service. It must register for Workmen’s Compensation.

Not only are you required by The Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, 130 to register for Workmen’s Compensation within 7(seven) days of employing the first employee, it also protects you from being sued by an employee injured on duty.

The Department of Labour needs the following to complete the registration:

  • Completed form WA.S 2
  • Company registration documents (CoR 14.3 and Memorandum of Incorporation)
  • Certified copies (not older than 3 months) of the ID documents of all the directors/shareholders.

The registration process may take a while to complete as we are dealing with the Department of Labour, which sometimes suffers a heavy workload.

Although you may be registered with the Department of Labour, you might need to register with another fund (e.g. The Federated Employers’ Mutual Assurance Company / Rand Mutual Assurance) if your company operates in the building and construction industry. This will make it more complex and takes longer to register.
